Radiologist Reading Tools

Reliability and efficiency are key features of the hosted PACS solutions. Radiologist efficiencies are improved from the vast array of PACS reading tools.

Worklist

The worklist is dynamic and customizable for each user; all studies that need to be read appear on this list.  Once read, they will disappear.

Patient Explorer

The patient explorer contains a list of all studies the current patient has had done and a listing of all the series within each study. The patient explorer can be hidden or shown by one click.

Hanging Protocols

Viewing protocols ensure a consistent presentation of images for each modality and body part. The PACS system “learns” the radiologist’s preferences in viewing different study types and improves their efficiency by storing these for future use. All viewing protocols are then available on all of their reading stations: hospital, office or home.

Window/Level Adjustments

Images are adjusted by using the mouse button by dragging the mouse up and down to adjust the level and left to right to adjust the Window value.

Zoom and Pan an Image Dynamic Zoom and Pan

Use the mouse to select the desired image and the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. The zoom will focus on the location of the cursor. To Pan the image by simply clicking and dragging the image around.

Magnifying Glass

Increase the size of the image by clicking the bar at the top of the magnifying glass and dragging it over the image to magnify the desired region.

Add Annotations

Enter diagnostic notes in the Annotation Text field to highlight points of interest button.

Measure

The measure features provides an easy way to display the distance from one end of the point to the other.

Region of Interest

Any image can be selected as the region of interest. Simply drag the mouse diagonally down to select the region and any measurements will displayed beside the shape.

Spine Labeling Vertebrae

In a sagittal series, choose the starting vertebrae and desired starting label. Click at the bottom of the vertebrae until all vertebrae are labeled. All sagittal and axial sequences display the label.

Locate Point of Interest

Select a point on an image and every image that contains a view of that point is brought up to the screen.

Unsharp Mask

This tool utilized for X-ray and Mammography images to selectively enhance different types of tissues on the desired image.

View Tissue Density (CT and (NM)

Select the desired tissue and move the mouse to see the Hounsfield values for CT studies and Standard Uptake Values for NM studies.

Custom Templates

Radiologist are more efficient in reporting with pre-defined custom templates that provide a convenient method for report creation. The Radius hosted PACS system can store an unlimited number of templates in Microsoft Word format. Patient demographics, facility location, modality and body part information is automatically inserted in the report based upon the pre-defined templates. The system uses “bookmarks” to know where information about the patient should be displayed. Microsoft Word supports inserting images to create attractive customized reports.

Transcription can be done by either in-house personnel or a third-party service.  The radiologist dictates their findings and saves them as a “wav” file.  When the radiologist completes this step, the worklist transfers the information to a “to be” transcribed status automatically.

Speech to Text is available with M*Modal Fluency Direct. M*Modal Speech Understanding™ has seamless integration with our PACS systems. It works with structured reports based on RSNA guidelines as well as custom templates created by the radiologist. This cloud-based solution provides for the management and synchronization of user and group profiles automatically while the speech recognition “learns” and adapts based on the radiologist actions to further improve recognition and understanding of clinical speech and language.
